CRPIC’s free Tax Center to help low and moderate income families file their federal and MA state taxes opened in January for its 6th season! Last year we helped over 400 families and we are hoping to serve even more this year. The Tax Center is part of the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program created to help people file their taxes correctly and for free. Our preparers are all IRS-certified to ensure your taxes are done right and you get the maximum refund allowed.
The Tax Center is focused on boosting refunds and making sure tax filers are taking full advantage of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child and Dependent Care credits, Child Tax credits, Education, and Retirement credits. We also check for the “Circuit Breaker” credit for MA property owners/renters 65 years old and over, and Energy Efficiency credits for eligible MA homeowners..
The Tax Center is open 4-8 pm on Thursdays, 10am-6pm on Fridays, and 10am-6pm on Saturdays at 154 Moody Street in downtown Waltham. Appointments are strongly recommended. For more information on what you need to bring and/or to make an appointment call 781-891-9559, x206.
